It would be pretty impossible unless it is very unreasonable. First, take up a patition of others who feel the same way you too (either people are driving by your house too fast or some round's speed limit is too low). After you get as many signatures as you can, submit the patition to the city council and get them to put the issue on the agenda of a meeting. After this point, you will want to get as many people as you can to go to that meeting and state your point. They will probably have the Chief of Police come in for consultation, and then take a vote. If you don't succeed, then probably the speed limit shouldn't be changed.

The kids have found the solution to speed limits in my small home town. They simply remove all of the speed limit signs with some regularity.

Try it. But, be sure you get them all!

Draw a petition and have it signed by as many people as possible, the more the better your chances... Encourage friends and neighbors to help. Set up a stand in malls and in front grocery stores in your area . Stop people, explain your petition and ask them to please sign. After you get at least 100 or more siggies present it to the mayor and ask for it to be put up for consideration or referendum. Also I would present a letter to the editor of your local and state newspaper and ask him to post it in the editorial section.

Either talk to your local town council directly, or to the local town councilman who represents the appropriate area.
