i dont know if he is gay but i want to ask him becouse i like him but i am afraid if i ask him and he is not gay it will end our friendship, and mabye tell other people!

Is he giving any signals? Looking at other men's or your crotch; does he talk about girls on a erotic level; does he talk about boys on a erotic level; if you had pictures of men around do you think he would make any comments, Do you give any inkling to others that you are gay (effeminate ways)?
You probably can ask him if he has ever had homo-erotic feelings? If he responds in the negative leave it alone. If he responds in the positive build upon how you have experienced them also.

I think you put your friendship in jeaopardy and that could be really heratbreaking. does he know you're gay? I'd tell him first, if you think you can really trust him to be supportive (maybe ask what he thinks of gay folks first or something) and then see how that goes. Take it slow.

If you ask him if he is gay he will likely deny it, even if he is. You just need to continue to be his friend. It will happen if it is meant to be.
