My son who is 20 months has brown stained teeth. He was on vitamins with iron but we stopped like 3 months ago. Still stained and no his new teeth are coming in with brown stains. Any suggestions.

1) Do you brush his teeth?
2) Has he visited his dentist? If not, make an appointment to see him/her. It's suggested to get the first dental exam in before the 2 year birthday.
3) Is your son in pain? If not, hold on tight until you can see a dentist.

Talk with your dentist and see what he recommends.

In the meantime, make a paste with Baking Soda and water. Brush your child's teeth with it. Rinse, then use regular whitening toothpaste.

It may take several weeks to begin to be noticeable, but more than likely will help.

I hope this is helpful to you.

did you take antibiotics/ acne medication/ certain nausea medication while you were pregnant with him? My mom took tetracycline while pregnant with me and it permanently stained my teeth. If this is the case, bleaching and whitening won't work, you may consider porcelain vineers when he's older and has all his adult teeth if it's very noticeable but I wouldn't say it's worth the trouble for baby teeth.

did he sleep with a bottle a lot? that can cause teeth to rot. please make an appt. w/ a pediatric dentist as soon as possible. do not use whitening toothpaste on your little boy. it is not safe. they are stained for a reason, not like adult teeth with coffee and everything.

Certain medications can also cause toothe discolouration. Especially antibiotics. I'm not a "rush to your doctor" kind of person, but i would inquire with a health care professional, as you don't want his adult teeth discoloured too.
