There are bases for eyeshadow that are sold by a lot of more upscale brands (think Loreal, Maybelline, etc. -- just go to a Sephora, Ulta, or department store makeup counter and ask!) and sometimes more expensive / "better" brands of eyeshadow last longer (not just the generic drug store brands, although those are what I use and they still look great!).

Personally, I've found that works best for me is to apply a thin undercoat of Bare Minerals Bisque foundation over just my eyelids (before the eyeshadow), then apply the eyeshadow, and brush a little more bisque over that layer. (The Bisque may seem expensive at first, but if you just use it on your eyelids, it should last for virtually forever -- I use it on my whole face, to even out my skin tone before my regular foundation and disguise blemishes, acne, etc. in addition to my eyelids, and I can make a container last for over a year).
This makes it really long lasting and it looks great!!

Good luck and hope this helps you!!! :D

The problem is simply that most make-up requires some sort of base, something to adhere to. There are a variety of different types of bases that you can use to both increase the staying power of your eyeshadow as well as the color/intensity.

One of the most popular items is Urban Decay's Primer Potion, which can be found at most Sephora stores (as well as Sephora.com), but you can go for a drugstore alternative called L'Oreal Decrease. Other popular ideas for bases include MAC's Prep & Prime Eye (or their paints and shadesticks). All of these act as a way to make your eyeshadow look perfect throughout the day and keep the application from creasing, too.

In a pinch, you can use concealer or foundation, and I have heard of people using chapstick (but personally, I wouldn't recommend it - why not spend the $5 or so on L'Oreal's Decrease?).

You can buy an eyeshadow base, or maybe make sure ur eyelids arent greasy and apply a foundation or concealor (sp?) under and put the eyeshadow on top so ithas a texture to stick onto

You can try using a cream formula, but it may not work - I have the same problem. An eyeshadow base will help too - it's similar to a stick concealer in consistency. I got some from Sephora but you might find it in a drugstore too.

Estee Lauder has a great eyeshadow base, you apply it and then apply your eyeshadow. It gives you a surface that keeps the color true. What happens a lot of times is that your skin absorbs the color, giving your eyeshadow a good base will prevent this.

MAC eyeshadows are very long wearing and stay true to their color as well. I love them because you can apply them lightly or heavier to vary the intensity.

Just make sure you put enough on. Whatever color you're putting on as the base - put a decent layer on. Use a brush and really get it on there - not to the point where it's just snowing off your lids though! This will also keep you from overdoing it with the crease color. I have found this to work no matter what shadow I use. Hope this helps.

First after u put on your eyeshadow put in any type of face powder. Also you could wet your shadow applicator wet then put the shadow on it and apply, it makes it darker and stays on a lot longer!!

Hop this helped you a lot, Good Luck!!

Apply concealer on your eyelid, then put on your eyeshadow (it helps if you wet the applicator before you dip it in the eyeshadow), then finish it off with pressed powder.

First, apply your concealer or foundation to your eye lid- let it dry a minute and then put the eye shadow on. Works like a charm.

You can't keep powdered eye shadow on your face for any longer than a few hours unfortunately, unless you use this special spray that keeps all your make up on your face (for theatrical purposes mostly... but I guess you could use it for normal days...) and can be found at http:///www.cosworks.com/

Otherwise, you could just switch to a cream-base or liquid base eye shadow. Cream-base eye shadow stays on but liquid eye shadow stays on for longer.
