Yeah, I'm a guy, but I've talked to enough females to get a basic understanding.
The vast majority of girls don't feel it at all. A very few can feel it, but it doesn't hurt, and they still prefer them over pads.
I've never talked to anybody that says that tampons hurt. They wouldn't be so popular if they did...
Give it a try. Think of it like swallowing a small pill or something... it's awkward and weird inserting it at first, but it seems completely normal and natural by the second or third time.
Oh, and tampons won't make you lose your virginity. That is a state of sexual inactivity, and you can't have sex with a tampon, just another person. Now, you might tear the skin, but that isn't painful. It seems like it would be, but it isn't. Besides, if you've ever played sports or ridden a horse, it's probably gone anyway. Almost all girls lose that long before they actually lose their virginity.

O I hated wearing those annoying pads! Tampons are so much better. I use the tampax pearl tampons. I think they are the best. I would suggest buiying a box and reading the directions that are inside. They tel you step by step how to put it on. You should not feel the tampon once it is inside you. If you do it is not in far enough. Basically you just take the tampon, find your opening.. it is far back.. that might be the most difficult part. Push it in alittle then push the applicator so it goes up. Good luck. You will get the hang of it.

Don't worry. it doesnt hurt as bad as you think. I couldnt do it for a while when i first started. i'll just tell you how and if it takes you a few times its ok. first take the tampon with the applicater on. (not wrapper) put the applicator with the tampon in it and put up there and guide it a little so its heading the right direction. ok now at this point the applicator will be almost halfway in. now push the bottom of the appicator so the tampon pushes out. It might stop being able to be pushed before the tampon in fully in, so just pull the applicater out while pushing the tampon in and it should be fine. When you get it right, you'll become pro. Don't force it thats what makes it hurt.

Make sure you follow the box directions, but my best advice is to take a deep breath fisrt and RELAX your muscles down below...if you are nervous they will tighten up and make insertion MORE painful...also go slowly, but you have to put it in all the way to the push tube or else the tampon will not go in far enough to be comfortable or to give you the right protection. If you can feel it then it's not far enough in and you will have to try with a new one....Also duing the insertion, point it a little towards your lower back (not towards front or straight up)...your vagina naturally curves backwards a little and that will help make it easier if you follow the body's path...One little drop of lubricant on the tip of the tampon or applicator will help you as a newbie too...Wow hope I helped...

The first thing you need to do is RELAX...
it's less painfull if you just take a deep breath and go for it.
i would suggest starting out with "light days" tampons because they are really small. at first when you are inserting it, it sorta hurts but if you just keep going something kinda pops and you dont feel it. it will take practice. it took me like 30 tampons b4 i could do it properly.. lol
Oh! and make sure you get it all the way up their too. you dont want it sliding down
good luck hun!

Go with the smallest ones first. It will hurt the first few times espescially if you dont stick it in right. You will get used to it. pulling them out is the hard part just make sure its fully used and expaneded before taking it out, because it hurts if it isnt. theres directions with some tampons. try obs if you dont like applicators those are good starters there small and easy.

Try a junior tampon. Put a mirror on a closed toilet seat, prop your leg up, and guide the tampon in. Be sure to get one WITH the applicator.
And remember that it may feel a bit odd the first few times, but it should NOT hurt unless it breaks your hymen.

well tampons are not for everyone in fact i was scared the first time i used one. There are very specific instructions and pictures on the box to help you make your first time using a tampon a very good one! In fact to make matters better if you are not a virgin your tampon experience should be absolutely painless.and if you are there is no reason to be afraid they are comfortable and very handy!

well you need to be relaxed when attempting to insert a tampon for the first time, just follow the instructions on the imformation sheet included in the pack, and first go for the smallest ones , try in diifferent positions, eg: squatted down a bit, one leg hitched up on the bathroom basin, lie down on the bed on your back legs apart, that kinda thing.
eventually u will get the hang of it, and you willw onder how you ever managed to wear one of those horrid pads at all.

They shouldn't hurt you. They are suppose to help. If you haven't used them you should try a smaller one first. But if it's at the begining it may not help. Also read the directions and don't leave it in too long. Try the regular first. It really shouldn't hurt you, and if it is uncomfortable take it out. Best of luck.
