My honda legend 89model is stuck in safety mode was wondering if anyone knew what could be the problem?

auto gearbox still drives but only in 3 gear

The transmission is definitively failing. Since it is old and rare car, it doesn't make sense to repair it (they will change your transmission). Just drive it until it dies. In the mean time, shop for your next car.

Transmission is failing. Get 'er to a shop for an estimate.
