Just as there are pranksters who would reply to questions you post with most absurd answers, so there will be people who will try to ruin your satisfaction in giving a good answer to a question.
Relish the thought that someone reasonable has taken notice of your effort with a thumbs up. Then leave the flying voters and biased inquirers to play their game.
Also, sometimes the questioner found difficulty in really framing the question well. The choice of best answer only signifies the closest that came to his/her mental wavelength.

I have noticed that happens a lot. It just means those who like your answer weren't the ones choosing best answer. I frequently give a thumbs up to answers I like, but miss the opportunity to vote for best answer on the question. I use most of my 100 votes each day working on the backlog of unresolved questions from a year ago.

A little but the answere usually picks the person who says what they want to hear. What really bothers is me when you write your answer and then you see someone just copy and paste your answer and then add a web link. like they purposely took the time to copy your post ( like literally copy and paste your exact words) just to one up you. It's happened before more than once. that grinds my gears. Oh and when you say something like anti religious and people give you a million thumbs down for disagreeing

well because all different users give u thumbs up but only the asker can pick u for best answer. and as an asker, I don't care what ten thousand other random people think of your answer if it doesn't apply to me in the end.

Best Answer is either picked by voters or asker.......thumbs up don't mean a thing if the asker picks the best answer....or even if the voters pick the best answer.

LOL! Well, I have never noticed that, but it might bother me for a minute. Don't fret- I guess people havent realized the "value" of your answers yet. Good luck with future posts.

It's not what the majority thinks of your answer.
It's up to the asker to decide. And they would only choose the ones that pleases them the most.
