ALIGNMENT WILL NOT CAUSE A VIBRATION UNLESS IT IS SEVERE AND THE WHEELS ARE ALMOST POINTED AT EACH OTHER. A VIBRATION IS CAUSED BY BAD TIRES, IMPROPER BALANCE, LOOSE TIRE, BENT RIM, LOOSE SUSPENSION PARTS.

youshould check the balance of the tires, most road vibration come from unbalanced tires. However since it fades away, it could have something to do with the cars suspension set up, or the cars cv joints. Any thing that spins on a car can become unbalanced and create vibration. But since it is a mercury and the vibration fades after 80 don't worry about it.

Everybody above sounds about right. Check for mud or ice in the rims. Balance tires. Make sure your rims aren't damaged. You already had an alignment, but as a last resort you could have that double-checked. The only other thing I've experienced like that was a bent rear axle on a front-wheel drive Toyota. I have no idea how it got bent, but it was covered under warranty.

if its only vibrating at a certain speed it might be 1 of your cv axles going bad.i had the same problem,if you look under the car their is a bar that goes into your wheel (in the front) and it has a rubber boot around it if the boot is broken or has grease coming out thats the one that is bad if it dries out it will start clicking when you turn if you catch it before it starts clicking they can just replace the boot(speed boot) and add new grease to it thats the cheapest way.you can get a haynes book for your car at any autoparts store.

One of your tires isnt perfectly balanced... Take it to a tire shop and have them align and balance the tires.
