today's society is so shallow and the sick thing is that people think they have evolved so much. people don't respect anybody unless the person is talented or popular. this is ESPECIALLY true in high school, but it goes on. you all know it's true. why is it that athletes and singers are treated like gods? it's also true with women and sexual attraction. women are naturally attracted to guys who are alpha males, meaning they have power and fame. and people back them up by looking at the bright side. they always act like 'oh they're looking for something besides looks they're not shallow'. same with people in general. they think just because they're not judging people on race or background, they're not being shallow and that they've evolved. why is that?

you can disagree that what i'm saying is true, but if you argue that it's true and there's nothing wrong with it, you have no heart.

Excuse me, since when does society revolve around you?
Scientifically, we HAVE evolved.

I agree with the fame part. The celebrities should not be treated more importantly than the rest of us just because they're in the entertainment business. They're just people, so WHO CARES???

Anyway, if you just stopped your jealous complaining for a moment, you would realize that people respect talented people BECAUSE of their talents.

You, too, can be popular if you become a good person. You won't be super-popular-makes-fun-of-everyone-drama-queen-overconfident popular, but you will be liked a lot more than the stereotypical popular person.

Not all women are attracted to that kind of guy. And anyway, no one acts like "oh they're looking for something besides looks they're not shallow". A fairly large amount of women hate the stereotypical jock.

Society doesn't have to bend to your needs or revolve around you, sorry.

Because a good portion of the population has allowed it to progress that way. If you don't have anything else to sell, the only thing you can sell is sex & superficial entertainment. Unfortunately, most of our society doesn't have that much else to put out there.
It's called selling out, & unfortunately it's probably not going to change anytime soon.

Being anything else besides shallow takes work, and we're too lazy to pursue anything else. Besides, why do anything in our lives that are worthwhile when all we need to do is vote for people that are just going to buy our votes with 'stuff' anyways. (Bit of sarcasm).
