I'm a really shy 20 year old guy living at home, going to school full time and working part time. I do fine talking to people at school and work, but outside those places I have pretty much no life. I hang out with my brother and cousin from time to time, but other than that, I've only done ANYTHING outside with anyone outside of my family once. I went out with a girl in December, but she lost interest in me because I showed my lack of confidence ALOT talking to her on the phone. How do I get over this lack of experience and be a regular person.

The best advice that I can think of is to cultivate the relationships you've made at school and work and bring them outside of those environments. Get closer with the friends you have at school, plan social events outside of school, for example going to the movies. 300 just came out, go see that movie with some people it was awesome. And when it comes to girls, I know how hard it can be to show a confident side when full of insecurity and doubt. I used to be the same way, and even still am occasionally when I have a bad day. Confidence is something that has to be built up mentally over time. You can't just get it over night. Be secure, steady, and happy with yourself, and tell yourself that everyday. When you fill yourself with negative thoughts, you convey those negative thoughts with body language and by what you say. Fill yourself with positive thoughts and it will echo through your body and out your mouth. I'm sure once you've figured that out, everything else will fall into place my friend.

i would've cared. but not anymore, i just got the answer you gave to my question. no wonder youre behind 'socially' if you make statements such as 'girls wear clothes like that to attract men' no they don't. i really don't, cos it makes me feel uncomfortable and i get so disgusted by it. plenty of women dont. ok, there are some who like it, but normally because theyre insecure, and there are very few of those anyway.

guys do it whatever you're wearing. i cant believe you showed the disrespect to say that. im 15, im not even an adult, so dont try and tell me that i do it on purpose. because if you think i want the attention of slimy, pervy, disgusting guys, you have to be kidding me. thanks for the disrespect and general rudeness.
