I think that every mom is always concerned about SIDS, and which way a baby should sleep. My kids were the same way. I would lay them on their back and they would end up on their stomach. I think that you should let him sleep which ever way he feel comfortable. All of my 3 kids slept on their stomach and they are still alive. This is a hard question to answer because it is more about what you and the baby prefer. You need to trust your instinct.

Sounds like he has a bit of tummy trouble, that is usually why they like to sleep on tummies if they are persistant.
However, having your child sleep on the back is better, because sids is more common than you think. A friend of mine last year lost her child to sids, he kept rolling over and could not get back again.
If he will not stay on the tummy or if he hollars try your best to sooth him. Use a wedge to keep him in place and eventually he will adjust. When he gets in the three month range is a more appropriate age to let him sleep on his tummy
I am sorry he insists on this, because that makes it harder on you and more tired to.

You can lay your baby any way you want to, it's your baby. The risk of SIDS is higher when you lay a baby on his stomach to sleep though.
I had my first son when they told you to lay him on his belly to sleep. Then, with my second son, they said to lay him on his side or back. With my third son they told me to lay him on his back but he wouldn't sleep, so I put him on his belly and he was just fine. He's 19 months old, 33 pounds, and 3 feet tall, doing great.

You know my son is 8 mos now and he slept on his tummy all the time if he wants to sleep this way let him.You can buy an item called ANGEL CARE it's a monitored mat that you place under you babies mattress or bedding .this device alerts you if your child stops breathing or moving/heart rate within a max amount of time.So if you feel this worried get one of these and let him sleep on his tummy you can still attempt the placing him in on his back but if the only way he is feeling comfortable then let him and monitor him.My son did it and he is fine.

since they started the back to sleep program a lot less kids have died of SIDS.all my kids slept on their back until they could roll from stomach to back and back to stomach. my daughter is 11 months and has been sleeping on her stomach since the summer.(about 2-3 months old.)if u put him on his back every night he will get used to it until he can flip himself.sure, i was probaly put to sleep on my stomach and i am still here, but we didnt use car seats either.a lot less kids are dying because of what they have found out is safest.good luck to you, u will figure out what is best.

babies should not sleep on their tummies. SIDs is decreased DRASTICALLY by the back to sleep program. Try swaddling him at night to help him sleep. He'll learn and a little crying is better then SIDs happening.

if you are consistent with putting him on his back he WILL get used to it. Do you have a mobile up for him to look at or some glow in the dark stars on the ceiling? If he has something visual to look at that will also help. Good luck...
