My 10 month old won't stay still, and she throws in a big tantrum when I try to put her pj's on or change her diaper... She can't stand up on her own (yet), but she'll try to pull herself up with my shirt, or she rolls over... It's exasperating!!! >:^(

Don't listen to Franki. You don't discipline a 10 month old baby for moving! That's ridiculous. Of course a 10 month old baby wants to move, and that's normal, and NOT something that should be punished.
Something you can do is give the baby a toy to play with while changing. You could try singing songs. Try to make changing time a pleasant experience. Always associate positive things with changing, whether it's a cute song or a toy or a backrub or a kiss or a hug, etc. Give rewards for good behavior, but at 10 months, do NOT punish for unwanted behavior.

and this is where discipline begins!
it does not matter you will not listen anyway but the only 2 people that realize dicipline starts very early are the only 2 people that are not having this problem. all the people that said you do not discilpline a 10 month old are the very same people that will or do get on here and ask why their child is out of control. so thumbs down all you want. i have 2 teenagers and have never had any problems with my children acting up, throwing tantrums, fighting me for whatever reason and that is exactly what she is doing. there is no reason why a 10 month old cannot lay reasonably still for 5 minutes during a diaper change. as long as you let her control the situation she will control other situations and you will always be at wits end. people pamper kids way to much and need to realize that there is a time and a place for all things.

YOU know my son is doing the exact same thing he is 8 mos old and because he has figured out the whole crawling thing now if i even try to put him on his back he just flips put and wants to rollover or kick like crazy!So yes i am with you it is frustrating.I usually try to do it while he has a toy or something to do that he likes until I'm done or i tickle him and talk to him make faces and keep him there while amused.Sometimes it works.

Give her a toy my daughter loves anything that plays music. You also might want to try making a game out of it, blowing on her belly a couple times for changing her diaper and peekaboo when getting her dressed.

Just say "Oh no you don't" with a big grin on your face, and slap that diaper on as fast as you can. Maybe she just wants a little naked time. Let her go bare for a few minutes and try again.

My 8 month old son is the same way!! I learned real quick to give him a toy to occupy him or whistle to him !! It does wonders!! Good Luck!

A perfect time to reinforce NO with a smart smack on one chubby butt cheek.. and yes this is the time.. Now when you have her attention... try singing a few nursery rhymes to her.. this will help her know that NO means business and diaper changing means singing time and smiles and laughing and getting cleaned up.. Talking and singing to baby will divert her attention and help you get thru with this faster. When she can walk, let her carry the diaper to the changing area. Maybe try giving her a toy to hold or a musical toy to sing along with. You'll work out your routine now that you have some basic ideas.

Find something to distract her like a toy or food. It also comes in handy to learn to change a diaper backwards when she's crawling away!

my eight month old does this too and i just give her the box of wipes or a toy to occupy her i think distraction is the best solution what the heck is wrong with all these ppl wanting to spank their babies for doing something that is natural dont listen to them please

Do something to get her attention, make her laugh, make funny faces, funny noises, etc. They become fascinated by you and will lay still to see what you are going to do next.
