If I were to buy landscaping from someone and they offered a 1 year warranty on the plants. Would the warranty still be valid if they shut their business down?

This question and/or action is the "No.1" documented "Legal Case" in "Small Claims Courts" today and it is usually decided by the Judge based upon the "Documented Receipt's Information" ex. (name of company, date, amount of sale and most inportantly identifing the description of item being purchased, and "Warranty Information"). Most legal cases pertaining to purchases are lost in courts due to the buyer not taking time to read and understand the sellers warranty before purchasing. The Warranty can be enforced against a Business Owner even after closing down and/or business being sold. Small Claims Court (less than ($5,000)
is usually the place to resolve this matter .Normally a letter from a Civil Attorney requesting refund or possibly Legal Actions will initiate a positive response and settlement also.

Remember a company is always liable for sales and services it offers even after the business closes, business sales, and also Bankruptcy as long as it is enforceable.

A Legal Courts Judge can mandate a verdict for sale of assets against business and mandate a "Mechanics Lien" and/or "Liens" in your favor to recover your monies also.

A warranty is only as good as the company that gives it. If they close, you can't just go down to Home Depot and hope they'll honor the warranty.
