I have a 98 Voyager.... I am having some issues with the cooling system. While driving the engine temp shot up - There was no heat coming from the vents when I turned the heat on high...checked the radiator and it seemed empty.....the overflow tank was low as well. So after adding fluid to both places I tried again. AGAIN the temp shot up. Looking under the vehicle there were no leaks until driving about 2 -3 hours. It seems to be coming from a 'pipe' that has disintegrated. What is this part exactly and do you think that by replacing it - it will fix my problem?

They are all wrong just got done doing a complete top end rebuild on a 97 With a 3.3 you didnt say what engine you have but it sounds like the 3.3 with metal line you felt leaking is the tube that goes from the back of the water pump to the heater core you can get it at any dealer most parts stores dont cary them if you didnt drive her to far while hot the head gaskets should be fine like i said had the exact same thing on mine found it while rebuilding it

A "pipe" (made of some kind of metal or hard plastic), or a hose (made of rubber)?? If you are loosing anti freeze from it, whatever it is, replacing it will probably stop the leaking/overheating problem. However, if it got too hot for too long, you may have warped the cylinder head or caused other MAJOR problems. See a mechanic.

If its what I think your talking about these seem to fail on alot of cars.It sounds like the fitting on the manifold for the heater core hose. You can get a replacement at oriellys and other stores that use a better stronger metal and wont deteriorate.

you blew a head gasket and its going into the cylinder or the exhaust port in the head. If it's in your oil too then time for another engine or rebuild.

Sorry. Get a Chevy!
