So do you know how to soundproof a garage/shed, cheaply and so it wont be a fire hazzard or any other hazzards. But so it is safe and so i can drum all i want without my neighbours complaining????!!!!

The cheapest way is to ask your neighbors when they would least mind you practicing and open a verbal relationship with them. You'll be amazed how much practice time you can get just by showing them that you care if they are annoyed.

My neighbors have a garage band, that's gotten pretty good lately...on Saturday nights, I actually open my windows and enjoy them. (when they first started...It wasn't any more annoying than someone mowing thier yard...and we all have to do that)

If there is no drywall on the walls or ceiling you will want to get a good sound insulation to go between the studs, then attach your drywall or you could use Armstrong ceiling tiles with a high acoustical rating. Or you can use both depending on how close your neighbors are to the garage. The biggest problem isn't the walls or ceiling as much as it is the door, so now you have to completely seal off and insulate the door. If it's wood it will carry sound more than metal or fiberglass so you will have to take that into account. As you can see there isn't really a cheap way to do it unless you can find someplace doing a remodel were they will let you have the old tiles and insulation. Good luck, I hope this helped.

Roxul makes an insulation that is relatively cheap and is both fire resistant and is designed for sound dampening walls. The product is called" Safe & Sound" It will probably cost you a little to do the entire garage so you may want to do the garage door first. By the way egg cartons are to baffle sound not obsorb it! As for anything cheaper, any product that is pourus but dense will help (like foam cushions) but may not be safe.

You can buy soundproof drywall. It costs more than the regular stuff but it acts like 4 layers of drywall. You could also put insulation in the outer walls before you apply the drywall to even soundproof more.

The sound travels through air. If you block the holes you will have a good start
