Hi... Just curious asking. My sister's pc did not provide sound at all. and there was no sound card or driver found when I tried to detect it. I saw from her cpu that there is this sound card inside. Maybe its faulty I guess. Would like to asked if there's no sound coming out from the system, is it a possible that the sound card is spoilt? Is a creative live sound card 5.1 a 'sound card'? How do I go by installing the sound card?

You can also use everest to find the drivers for the card.. Its the simplest and best solution.
It lists out all the hardware in your system, even if windows does not recognise them..
Your card should be up and running with the drivers installed.. Happy listening..

you should be able to see the audio i/o plugging holes at the back of the computer. Some sound cards are external, and some are built on the motherboard. So detecting the make of the sound card is the first thing before you can search for and then download it's drivers

Click START
Click Control Panel
Click on System
Click on Hardware
Click on Device Manager
Click on the + by Sound,video,game Contollers
*IF* you see any Yellow & Black ! point or Red X REMOVEE them
Shutdown your computer, NOT RESTART
Wait at least 2 minutes then restart computer
Windows SHOULD find and REinstall the drivers
Note: Even IF you don't see the above mentioned ! or X, just remove the sound card drivers anyway, then do the Shutdown procedure

Control Panel, Sounds, see if the computer has it, but its disabled. You could also, try to reinstall the drivers there.
If the driver will not run, it will give you a code, like 29. In that case the bios may not be set to use sound.
If its a older computer, like mine, my bios was set wrong, and that fixed the problem.
