I would estimate the temperature in torrance will be 75-90 degrees this summer with a few days in the hundreds.

Good question. Here's what I think. Because you are asking for information beyond the skill of forecast models, your best bet will be to use climatology and then try to modify that by knowing that a La Nina is currently affecting Southern Ca. You can find the climatology for Torrance at this site:

Just type in Torrance, CA in the upper left box and scroll down to History and Almanac and type in the month and any day or the day you are looking for. When this page comes up you can get daily weather or weekly, or monthly averages.

Torrance is strongly affected by the afternoon sea breeze phenomena. Having lived in Torrance and worked in El Segundo for four years I can attest to this. This will help to moderate even the unusual heating that may be experienced with this La Nina which is currently causing the wildfires in California. My best guess is that max temperatures will be warmer than climatology but certainly not as warm as further inland.

Get it on the weather channel in yahoo. OR type in Meteorology for Torrance, CA in California. You are probably right. Another place is the Farmer's Almanac. 80-95 degrees Fahrenheit, for the high in the summertime. Maybe it will hit 100 degrees for 2-3 days.

Weather can't accurately forecast beyond about 10 days. So I'd say that summer in Torrence will either be hot or cool or somewhere in between.
