Essay on athletes salaries?

I'm writing a persuasive essay on high salaries of athletes. It has to be 5-7 pages and I am running very short. Does anyone have any ideas, arguments, etc., about what I can talk about in my paper? Any input would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!

1. Compare athletes' salaries to other entertainers, such as movie stars or rock stars. Since athletes are really entertainers, this makes the athletes look less highly paid.
2. Compare athletes' salaries to those of top executives running large corporations. Because the athletes really don't have great responsibility for others, like the executives, this may make the athletes look overpaid.
3. Consider the odds. How many 5th grade little leaguers are there out there? and how many players are there in the major leagues? Success in major league professional athletics is akin to winning the lottery, except that there are years of hard work and expense (training, lessons, camps, etc.) that go into it. For every olympic figure skater, there are about 1,000 serious skaters who don't get that far, never make a penny from performing, and spend upwards of $20,000 per year on their sport.
