Death Valley is the hottest place in the contiguous 48 states. Summer temperatures there routinely rise above 120 and on extreme occasions rise above 125. The warmest temperature ever recorded in the US was at Greenland Ranch in Death Valley on July 10th 1913 when the thermometer reached an eye popping 134 degrees F. Most likely though if you are in Torrance CA. Temps may reach 100 for one or two days but mostly will range in the high 70's to around 90 this summer.

I live in the Willamette Valley in Oregon and the hottest it usually gets here is about 100. Last summer it did get up to 110. That was too hot to handle. I like it to stay around 80 or 85.

It will vary from where you live and it's too soon to predict. However, some places will easily top or go above 125F.
