This is gonna sound weird.. and probably TMI.. but my husband and I have been TTC for almost 18 months, and I have erratic periods and have NO idea when i ovulate. Out of the battery of testing I've been through, I think my period may actually be coming.. my question is.. does cervical mucus have an odor to it? I haven't been anywhere near regular with anything, so I have to ask... You know how seman smells like.. well seman.. is there an odor to cm as well? I think I have cervical mucus , and the thicker stringy discharge, and will be ovulating but....? I just.. have never been regular for anything.... need to ask..

When you're checking your cervical mucus, make sure that you're inserting two fingers, gathering a little between your fingers, pulling them straight out, and then pull them apart to see the consistency. Fertile cervical mucus is really stretchy and clear or streaked looking, sort of like an egg white. Pair this with a soft, high and open cervix, and you're in business (if you're temping, you'll notice a half a degree temp rise at the time of ovulation.)

I second the recommendation of "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" and fertilityfriend.com, they're amazing resources!

Yes. It has a natural scent that some women can detect. It should NOT smell unpleasant in anyway, but it can smell rathr metallic.

If your cm has a foul odor than you may have an infection. There should be no odor at all. Also, if your cm is yellow, green or looks like cottage cheese you should see your doctor - especially if there is an odor.

Mine doesn't have an odor. hmmmm. Anytime you have an odor that doesn't seem normal, time to visit the doc.

Good luck :)

seems such as you're geting waiting to, while it gets wetter you would be approximately to truly quickly. i'm getting extreme delicate and open for approximately 6 days, first it rather is creamy then the final 2 days it rather is slippery. you're fertile now so while you are attempting choose for it.
