It was on tv back in the late 80s I think...

There was a girl who would keep her window open and play the Sesame Street theme and it kept attracting this monkey from outside... I think she had a deaf brother.. And at the end of the movie, they shoot the monkey and the deaf kid screams (which is like, a big thing).

I know it's kind of cryptic but that's all I remember.
Any one have any clue at all about this one?

The only thing I've come across so far is a couple children's books that have a very similar plot, however these were published in more recent years, so I'm not sure how much this will help:

"Dovey Coe" (2000) by Frances O'Roark Dowell
When accused of murder in her North Carolina mountain town in 1928, Dovey Coe, a stronged-willed twelve-year-old girl, comes to a new understanding of others, including her deaf brother.

"Willow & Twig" (2000) by Jean Little
Willow and her deaf brother Twig are abandoned by their mother and must go to live with their grandmother in Ontario.

There is this film from the late 70's which was released later on in the 1980's as it caused a lot of controversy for it's depiction of violence, and which includes a deaf boy:

"The Boogey Man" (1978) by Ulli Lommel
A father loses his children one by one...and his sanity.

Sorry if it doesn't really answer your question, but I hope it might guide you in the right direction.

Please let me if you happen to find out what it's called, thanks.

Oscar.
