Hell no. You are never to young to look good.
Tell your mom if you don't go tanning you won't fit in the 'cool' crowd, if she has a heart she would let you.

You can tan at any age BUT skin cancer loves those who tan. Another side effect is your skin aging and wrinkling long before it should.

Think hard and long before you choose this. It would be better to tan from a bottle. They have good ones on the market. Then you could use your good grades for something better like a new hairstyle, pair of shoes, swimsuit or new summer clothes.

Enjoy :)

Only if you want to be old and wrinkled before your time. That tan will cost you later.. Premature aging is not a myth it's a fact. So is melanoma, that tan could cost you more than good grades in the long run...

Going to tan really isn't getting to go do something.... I can think of a lot of things that are 'getting to do something' really going tanning your not 'doing' anything... It is really not 'awesome' honestly find something else to do that is awesome and doesn't wrinkle you like a prune or involve risk of death from cancer.

Well 12 is not too young to "tan" but i don't recommend that at any age. It can cause cancer and it causes wrinkles thus causing u to look old before your time and if u do it too much it begins to take on that really "fake" look.
I would strongly suggest the tanning lotion, i use that and it works fine. I know u are not worring about aging right now but believe me (i'm 35), it creeps up on you before you know what happened!
Be safe please!
God bless!!!!

No way, but be very careful, if you just want a tan, you can have a salon do and airbrush one that looks even better than a tanning bed would do. But if you just like the relaxation then use some kind of sunlotion, skin cancer is horrible when you get older, and they have to burn them off without any medician to keep it from hurting.

Congratulations on your good grades...
I would say if you really want to tan and your mom lets you go for it.

But I think you would be better ff taking that money, putting it in a bank account and saving it for your very first car!

Time goes fast and before you know it you'll be behind the wheel... Just a thought.. keep up the good work in school.

I understand your point but at the same time, I think you'll have alot of time to grow up later. I'm 26 so I'm old to you but I've got 2 daughters and I hope I can keep them as young as normally possible for as long as possible. Once you start these things, you can't really go back. You seem smart so I hope you can manage to focus more on that than on physical improvements. Good Luck.

At 12 I know it is hard to imagine life beyond your very early 20's, but try to imagine what all that UV radiation will do to age your skin. Now that we have all the knowledge about it(UV radiation), your generation could have unbelievably smooth skin well into your 50's. I envy you that option. My generation laid around in the sun slathered in a mix of baby oil & vanilla extract. Now we REGRET it! Choose to be healthy, you'll be glad in the long run. Pick something else as a reward.

I don't think it's too young. Tell your Mom that I think it's great that she's trading good grades for tanning. It's wonderful that she's teaching you to work for what you want and that you are working for it return. Have fun!!!
