I used to have very painful periods to the point where I couldn't move or walk...and had to stay home from school for basically the whole week of my period.
The only solution for me (and believe me, I've tried so many medical AND natural remedies that just haven't worked effectively) was the birth control pill. I'm currently on Alesse, a low dosage oral contraceptive that has taken away all the cramping from my period, all the discomfort and I feel great. I couldn't be happier, because I can live normally for all days of the year without having an "illness" once a month.
I'd talk to your parents (if you are still a teenager) about talking to your doctor about starting the birth control pill. There are many out there, but I reccomend alesse due to the low dosage and everyone that I know that has taken it has had no side effects compared to other pills like yasmin or ortho tri-cylen brands.
I hope this helped, and good luck. I hope you feel better.

Ha, the funny thing is... Im having cramps right now but all over my neck and back and shoulders... the best thing for cramps is a nice long hot shower, it relaxes your whole body and leaves you feeling so good. But I also use heating pads and tynenol or advil... if its before your about to sleep then take 2 tynenol pm and you will sleep like an angel. But be careful, I heard taking tynenol pm is addicting for some people so dont get too into that. Hope I was helpful.

you'll be surprised but exercising helps a great deal, yoga, pilates, and cardio. If you do it consistently you will notice when your periods comes around again that you don't experience bad cramps anymore. For now I dont know if you wanna do all that, but maybe try using a heating pad as mentioned or even drink a little wine to get your mind off of it.

I feel your pain! I've been having majorly painful cramps since I started. The only thing I have found to help was birth control (definitely try it, it will regulate you too, but it made me sick)
As far as right now, since you don't have any meds, try a heating pad or a warm bath, either of those will help!

A very hot bath, a heating pad or a hot washcloth on the area. The best would be the bath, it will relax you and help with the pain. Hope you feel better, peace.

Hot tea with a bit of honey and a hot water bottle. Even if you have to fill a 2 litre pepsi bottle and hold it against you. Anything that is water tight that will hold water will help.

Aromatherapy may help. I read this testimonial from a lady who had very bad cramps. She said that her cramps was not so bad after she started on aromatherapy.

There are these pads that heat up on their own and last for 8 hours. They come in a red and yellow box. I love them.

Do stretching exercises and aerobics, such as The Step.
Jumping Jacks works great, too. Get the metabolism up.
