When ever I save the Sims 2 it takes about 5 minutes to finnish, nothing happens the first 4 (no hard drive activity light), and then everything happens at once, and all is well once again. Has this happened to any one else? or does anyone know a solution? Running an AMD 2500 Athlon, 512 DDR, Gforce FX5200 ultra, 8gigs free.

I suggest you try upgrading to 1024 or 2 gigs memory. The more memory the better. You might also want to upgrade the hard drive amount, just in case. My old comp only had 500 memory and 6 gb left, and my sims 2 ran like ****. Now we have a new computer with at least 150 free gigs and over 2 gig memory and the game works like a DREAM. It may also have something to do witht he graphix card. Try getting a graphix card that is made for gaming if you don't already have one.

How often are you saving your games? If it's at the end of a play session, then yes, its going to take a while for the game to save depending on how long you played for. If you save every few minutes, or after every "major" evet (births, deaths, weddings) then it shouldn't take longer that a few minutes, but 5 minutes really isn't that long. I usually use that save time as a chance to get a snack, make a phone call, chat with my husband, or just watch a little tv.

make optimistic your pc is defragmented. possibly after downloading all those mods it have been given all wacky and out of place. visit megastar, upload-ons and gadget kit in case you don't be attentive to the place Disk Defragmentator is.
