Wow, I am afraid there is really little you can do. Because most of the time the lag comes from your opponent. However, if you find this situation happens all the time, there may be something you can do.
First, if you are in a LAN which means you are accessing the internet through a router, use a port forward may help. Configure your router to activate a port forward to your computer and open the port in your firewall. Try to avoid using wireless connection, since the link is always weak.
The best way is access the internet directly.
Second, close any other programs exhausting the connection recourses such as p2p softwares.

if you have met the minimum requirement of your pc then you can prevent lag, I too am having lag problems and when I consulted my friend he told me that my videocard does not suit even the minimum requirement although I could play it when it comes to multiple players or even characters I an't even control my heroes and worst my screen is jumping in any part of the map, so my advice check your ram, video card, hard disc etc ^^,

What's that?im hearing about a thing called "warcaft: but the only thing I know with that word is WoW a.k.a WORLD of WARCRAFT!if u tell me or if u mean wow then show it.i cant help u enless u tell me.
