she then called my boss saying that i was giving her the snotty attitude. just last week, she threatened to try to have me fired, and this worries me because her and my boss are the best of friends and my place of work is all politics - meaning that if i'm not friends with the boss and kiss her butt, i'm a piece of crap. anyways, she had my boss speak to me and my boss asked me why i was disrespecting the co-worker. Like i was the problem. my boss used to bully me around until i put my foot down and had a talk with her. she's now nice to me ( to my face anyways) but the co-worker is now telling me that no one likes me and tries to get me jealous by telling me that my crush likes her better. i always thought that we got along, we joke around ( at least i thought she was joking, until now). i just don't understand what her problem is. could someone please, maybe give me some insight on what the problem may be, or at least what it looks like to you? i'm completly clueless.

For starters, to just put it bluntly, she's a trouble making jealous *****. There.....I said it.

You can not help people like that, you ever heard of the saying.."Give a person enough rope, and they'll hang themselves?"

Well, step back and let her have her rope, before you know it, she'll be on the out and your position will still be filled with you.

Welcome to the real world. She sounds like a brown-noser, and since she seems so close with the boss, she might think she has some power there to wield. People like that know when someone can see their true colors, and maybe she feels threatened by you for some reason. Or jealous. who knows? If she keeps up with this underhanded behavior, maybe you could confront her (in a nice, calm way) and just look her straight in the eye, and ask "Did I do something to offend you?" She'll have to have some sort of answer, and then, if it's necessary, you will have the opportunity to correct or disagree with her reason. After that, if her behavior doesn't improve, just smile with your mouth, but with your eyes, say, I know what you are all about. Don't fall for her traps.

it seems like she is jealous over you as a person. have a good talk about this with your boss. if it doesn't get somewhat resolved or you feel like you are going to get fired for nothing go to the more higher up and complain to them. they have to have a good reason to fire you instead of so and so said you were snotty even though you know you werent

To me, she sounds threatened or even jealous of you. I don't know if I would go out of my way to help her out unless not doing so would jeopardize your job in some way. A casual "hello" or "how are you?" would still let her know you are friendly and not giving her the cold shoulder and would also be benign enough to not illicit trouble. Tough situation.
