Definately a 10 for me. The work is almost flawless and the (what many would consider 'childish') topic of rabbits is carried with enormous strength and confidence by Richards. It is one of the most beautiful (and if ever someone asks me my favourite book I must say I'm tempted to name this one) books that I have ever read. Can I go higher than ten?? ;)

Take this review from the London Times on the first edition of WSD: "I announce, with trembling pleasure, the appearance of a great story." I will never read a more eloquent review!!

For me, a 10, with 'Tales From Watership Down' an 8. The original novel was a myth of epic proportion, just with rabbits instead of humans. It's one of the books I re-read every now and again.
