You can check the state bar website where the attorney is licensed. Many states have a short biography, which lists any disciplinary actions against that attorney.
Some private companies also maintain lists of attorneys, with references and "report cards". But these are only as accurate and trustworthy as the private company who sponsors them.

In Indiana, you would need to contact the Indiana State Bar Association. I presume it would be the same in your state. The BA will be able to direct you to official records of disciplinary actions against particular attorneys. The attorneys may only be referred to by initials unless the attorney loses their license or if the event was particularly egregious. Your local newspaper may have records of especially egregious antics of local attorneys.
But an attorney, just as any person, can be corrupt and never make it onto the radar. An attorney is no more and no less morally right than any other person. The attorneys I know deal strive every day to be honest and ethical.
If you have questions about a particular attorney, start asking around. You can also politely watch them in action in court.
Good Luck

You can find out that information right here on line. Just go to Google; type in "Find disciplinary actions against attorneys in 2006 _________________(whatever state). Hit "search" key, and button to "Attorneyt Discipline Release July 26, 2006. ( or any of the following sites). Actually you can also type in the name of the attorney (and his address) on Google and follow same procedure.(e.g. "FInd John Ennis, attorney, Anywhere, New York") (sorry Baby Pooo does not know what he/she is talking about)

Unless it is a matter of public record that an attorney as been charged with corruption, there is no way you can ascertain corruption. You can access public court records to assess an attorney's legal history: cases tried, cases won, cases lost.
