My fish tank has some pretty tough foggy/white stains on it. I used pickle juice, a bleach water mix, some degreaser, a razer and a glass aqua scrubber. No luck though. How do I bring out that nice clear glass look?

Don't be mad at me for using the degreaser (i'm desparate), plus I used just a little and rinsed it well

I answered the previous question - I'll post that answer here:

I think what you're saying is that the glass appears cloudy?

Since you've tried so much already, I believe what you have is permanently etched glass. Glass is made from silica which can dissove slightly at a high pH. Do you know if your tank was ever used for saltwater or cichlids? Or is the pH of your water naturally high where you live?

About all you can do now to remove the etching is to have the tank flame-polished. This should be done professionally and involves remelting the surface of the glass. It's a risky proposition, since if the glass heats unevenly, it may crack.

Give the tank a good rinse with warm water. Maybe add a little vinegar to try to get off as much of the other chemicals as you can (vinegar or lemon juice would be a good start next time, just in case it's a lime deposit on the glass - and it's not toxic to the fish). Best news I can give you is that it usually doesn't look "as bad" when filled with water - but it won't be a show tank. Find the side where the etching is least apparent and have that as the front.
