SON, It is the last "vette to have a chrome bumper and some HP! What you want to check for is bonding strips in the front fenders and rear quarters . Feel along the lip of both these areas as well as the front nose to check for bondo filler (where it was wrecked and not properly fixed) Check the paint,is their overspray on any of the window weatherstripping or any weather stripping. Why, because "vette" paint is notorious for cracking if it has been painted too many times and what will happen with a "qiuckie paint job is after driving it for a mo. or two the cobwebbed paint will bleed back through. Check the pad on the right side of the engine to see if the # match just belowthe front of the valve cover. The # should match the VIN # and the letters for a 73 "vette" should be CKZ. CLA.CLB.CLR.CLC.CLSCLD.CLH. for the small block engine. For the big block CWS.CWT.CWM.CWR. Also check your local Chevy dealer as you would be surprised at what we still carry(and at 1973 prices) Also check gmpartsdirect.com

73's are probably the lowest priced year of the corvette. In 73 the power was down and you could run unleaded gas in it.
So if you want one, just consider everything you will want to replace on it. Just about everything on it can be bought through a catalog or Chevy dealership. You can look for spider-webbing in the fiberglass. If you are trying to buy an original one, look for missing parts that can be expensive to replace. Try http://www.proteam-corvette.com/ If it's corvette Terry probably has it or can get it.

i own a repair shop ,and these cars had a lot of flaws in them, even a new Corvette does, but over all there pretty fair cars to own, right now there not selling all that good,so you should be able to find one pretty cheap,if you had asked about a month ago i could have sold you mine,it was a 73 model, and in excellent shape,i only got 8500 for it,and it needed nothing, and that was considered high for one,but you should be able to find a good one pretty cheap, and in good shape also, good luck with it,i hope this helps.

They pretty much broke the mode after 1972. Get anything before 1973. Just keep in mind. Matching number vetts are higher in price than non matching numbers. Body work or hazing or crackling can cut the price bunches. Unless your wanting a pristine vett
