I thought it was a FANTASTIC movie. Very well done. You shouldn't take things so personally. Nobody said it was a historical reenactment, or a documentary, or even based on a true story. It was just a movie. You wrote:
"Some of people may be just watch this movie”300” for amusement but before watch it as one historic movie I think you should take look at some history books some real books not imaginary history book "
I don't think anybody would watch this movie for a history lesson. And if they did they're pretty stupid and I don't History is their best subject anyways. It's not very bright to assume somebody is going to use the movie as an "imaginary history book" either. Relax. Watch the movie, and enjoy it for what it is, a MOVIE. It's really quite excellent. Don't go there for a history lesson, I didn't give a hoot about the history of the Persians going in, and I don't hold anything against them coming out. It's a m-o-v-ie.

Dear Roya, I completely understand you. Not only I, but also all other Iranians understand you. This movie is the most horrible one that I have ever seen in my life. Oh, not the most terrible, because The Great Alexander was as awful as this. both movis were based on wrong informations. The 300 Spartans is not a real story. Americans think that all those Greeks and other europians are their ancestors. That is why they try to show them like that. Also because of all the political reasons they are trying to show iranians in a wrong way. Not only the present iranians but also our ancestors. By making these movies they are insulting are past, they are insulting the great civilization and history that we had. It seems that they dont know we are PERSIAN not ARABS. Whay they insist on showing us like arabs?
Aren't we the nation that our Cyrus The Great created the first human right in 2550 years ago? arent we the nation that if you go to United Nation you see the translation of the first human rights? arent we the nation that while all other great civilized people such as greeks, romans, egyptians and.... worshiped more than one god, we believed in one god. We believed in good words, good deeds and good thoughts. And that was not because we were muslim, oh no, but because we were Zoroastrians,an old Monotheist iranian religion.
I'm asking you, is there any greek person here? If this happened to you, i mean Hollywood made movies which insulted to your civilization, history and ancestors, would you say the same thing, that it is just a movie, it is cool it is just for fun, the historical details are not important,and.....
would you say these things? or would you feel angry and feel that you have been insulted???
I hope that you all understand what we iranians say and feel about this movie and other movies like that.

I believe what you are saying is that you do not like the movie?
Xerxes was a ruthless and ambitious ruler.
Greece, like Persia also has a long history and culture in the world. And I wonder, would the world have benefited from this history if Xerxes had fully conquered all of that area?
As it turned out he did not, and the movie 300 is just a movie about a small, but very important battle involving that history.
Yes hollywood made it glamorous as it usually does. But it is still a real battle and for the most part at least, a real story.
There is certainly nothing you should be hurt about relating to that movie.
Believe me, watching a movie , or even reading history involving the battle of Thermopylae, does not change my opinion about you as someone from Iran.
Its history.. something that happened long ago. You and I were not part of it. And it would be silly of me or anyone else to judge you, Iran or anyone else based on something so long ago. :)

I can understand why these americans say "Oh it is not history just a movie!!!, not important, it is just entertainment" the reason is that THEY HAVE NO HISTORY, nothing to be proud of else that killing millions of innecont indians. If I were a POTATOE like you americans and had no history, then by sure the movie was just a funny fiction one. but please be in my shoes and feel the situation: You live in a cultural country, with great history, you see westerns that have no true idea about you, although your people are one of the friendliest in the world ( you can ask all those few tourists that have ever come to iran). Every day they accuse your country to something it has not done. when you chat with westerns they think iran is desert and people are camel rider!!!! ( this is the funniest for me beacause we have air pollution problem). your persian gulf is called ARAB!!!!!! and .... you try everyday to correct the vision of iran which has been polluted by western media. and at the end of the day you see a movie like 300.
If you think it has no effect on the vision of people from iran go to the following yahooanswers question:

After seeing a 99% complete 300 at a 24 hour film festival i was amazed by the accuracy and beauty before my eyes. This film is an adaptation of Frank Miller's (Sin City) graphic novel 300 and wow is it ever accurate.I am very glad to see two magnificent pieces of Frank Millers art Sin City, and 300 have successfully transferred over to the big screen without losing anything in between.Visually the film drops you off your feet and it's not even completed yet so when this eventually debuts in the theaters it will have double the impact on me as i plan on seeing this again. The mix of live action and CGI creates beautiful landscapes, gorgeous backrounds, and amazing dimension to the characters. The film's dialog is pretty much exactly the same as it is in the graphic novel much like how most of the dialog in Robert Rodriguez' Sin City was taken directly from Frank Millers graphic novel.Personally i think that 300 is the best film of it's kind. It's got a faster pace than Lord Of The Rings, is more accurate than Troy, more compelling than Tristan and Isolde, and more violent than Gladiator. This movie so far deserves the academy award for best picture and without a doubt deserves the academy award for best cinematography for the originality and sheer beauty put into it's visuals. The battles are well filmed and action packed so for those of you who want gore and violence you'll get it and you'll be satisfied.Overall this is a movie of epic proportions and deserves a lot of recognition for it's originality, visual beauty, and it's accurate portrayal of it's original source.

If I am not making a mistake, the movie was about almost 2500 years ago. Isn't 2500 years a long time? How accurate is the account of events that happened 2500 years ago? Who wrote the history of that period of time? Perhaps someone with a biased mind?
Herodotus who wrote the so-called history, was Greek. What do you expect him to write? Do you expect him to write good things about the Persians and bad things about the Greek? Maybe he had an ulterior motive?
The Bible was written 2000 years ago. There have been programs on the American TV asking if Jesus even existed. What I am trying to say is that even if something happend two hours ago, different people would have different views of the event and their account of what happend would vary greatly.
Obviously, the movie is political and is meant for feable-minded idiots. Retarded people take fiction as fact. When a movie has a lot of special effects and a lot of violence and gory scenes, it is considered a great movie. Most people have low IQs and are easily brain-washed. The movie's main objective is to brain-wash people. What do you expect? They confuse fiction with fact.
I mean a person has to be really retarded to believe the so-called history, written only by one person, about 2500 years ago.

i loved the movie. nothing you say or do can change that and i believe some would agree with me.
look, it's nobody's fault that your ancestors looked the way you described us because of what the movie has conveyed.
i didn't watch it because i think it's historical, not at all. i watched it because it's so damn cool. don't be worried that people might start thinking your people are really like that. i have to agree with the writer above me that the story that the movie was based on can't really be one hundred percent accurate, after all... it happened some thousand years ago. so you see? even if there really is someone who's trying to bash your ancestry with inaccurate stories then you and that person are on the same boat. there's no telling who's telling the truth.
i stick to my opinion. 300 is one of the best damn movies i've ever seen. i wish i could watch it over and over and over again.
"to king Leonidas and to the brave 300! to victory!"

To tell you the truth it just became my favorite movie. The action was the best. I don't know why people are making such big deal out of it. If they didn't add some fnatasy it would be kinda boring. But when i left the movie theater I was literally shaking by how good it was. The intensified scenes. the slow motion battle scenes rocked. THEY NEED TO MAKE A SEQUEL that will follow the next war.

is this movie going to be another "da vinci code?"
is this question going to turn out to be another debate btwn hollywood vs. history?
300 is a film for entertainment, with historical relevance
most people who see it don't probably realize ancient persia is now modern day iran and is about the battle of thermopylae in 480 B.C., unless you're a scholar/student of military history and/or the art of war

You need to lighten up. Nobody who sees that movie is equating the Persion empire of a thousand years ago to Iran today. We realize it is just a Hollywood movie with dramatic license. I don't think many people think of it as a "historic" film.
Iran currently has enough problems to deal with. Shouldn't you be worrying about your government trying to acquire nuclear weapons while the entire world protests? Your government is horrible.
