My husband and I tried for over three years with no success. We finally had a consultation with a fertility specialist (no testing or procedures, just a consult), then when I ovulated a few days later, we conceived!

I don't think it had anything to do with stress or the consultation. We'd taken a couple of very nice vacations in those three years with no success before. I think it was just a matter of luck.

This was a question I felt was a must for me to answer. I have been married for six years. I am now 25 years old and my husband and I had been trying to conceive for the past five years. It never happened it was also told to us that my husband had low sperm count after having a semen analysis but he never had surgery for it or anything!! Last year in February to my surprise some time after we had stopped trying and told one another if it happens it will just happen and if not we'd be okay I discovered I was pregnant! I could not believe it! I think that the saying just when you least expect it, it happens is so so so true because that's exactly what happened to me. They also say when your trying to get pregnant you put more pressure on your body and if you just relax and let nature take it's course it really allows your body to do all the work on it's own! Good luck

Yes! I just read an article in the Parents or Parenting magazine (can't remember which one it was called). A couple was trying and kept miscarrying. The lady's best friend agreed to be their surrogate. The couple got pregnant through the surrogate with twins. They found out a week later they were pregnant too! They were sure she would miscarry again. She didn't! The surrogate gave birth almost a year ago to a girl and boy set of twins. A week later the mom had to leave her newborns to give birth to a set of girl twins! Now they have 4 babies that look like they could be quadruplets!

Yes, I have heard of that. Sometimes stress can reduce the chance of getting pregnant. I know of people who have had to get pregnant by IVF and then got pregnant the second time without trying to.

Me! We tried for a very long time. We had just decided to look into adoption and found out I was pregnant the next month.

I know a couple who were having problems and the man went and had tests and something was wrong with him ( I think low sperm count) but surgery could fix it. After his surgery his wife found out she was pregnant and they hadn't even had sex after the surgery he was still recovering. She had gotten pregnant a month before he had surgery and they didn't have any idea.

Yes, my neighbours. After adopting two children they unexpectedly had a biological son. I've heard of other such situations. Sometimes I think it is the fact that the couple have finally relaxed about the whole baby thing.

When you least expect it, it happens. Stress is a great factor in everything. Your body reacts to it making this harder but once you relax you find your body and mind chemistry is more normal. So it does happen.
