I think there are two kinds of power today, economic power and military power. The two are actually very related.
China's economy is poised to surpass the United States in the coming decades, because it's growing at 9-10% annually while the US does maybe 3% in a good year. You can look at CIA World Factbook and see that the PPP GDP for China is already at $10 trillion while it is at $12.98 trillion for the United States. This means China's economy as a whole will be larger, although in per capita terms, it will still be poorer. However, it is the aggregate economic power of a nation that matters.
Now, this is related to military power because countries normally spend a fraction of the GDP on the military. Now if China's economy is larger, so while spending the same percentage of GDP, it will one day be able to support a larger and more technologically advanced army.

Yes. I would be most worried of the Chinese who are still communist, fascists and are using capitalism and cheap labor to produce goods and services at low prices, dumping this on the world market and using this money to build their military. This is being done by the Chinese very effectively without very much publicity. China wants to be an overwhelming force in the world and a superpower. India is another country that could easily become a superpower because of huge educational and technological advances. Russia is flexing its muscles as well and is helping to arm other countries against the US. They are a small but formidable mini super power due to nuclear and technological advances. Its a dangerous world and I would definitely keep one eye on the Chinese.

its strategic location, huge population thatr can be forced to fight cause china is communist, its growing industrial manufacturing? Think about it. During WWII, we were the ones makeall the equipment and things that said made in USA. We were exposed to a lot of technology. Now, china is in that position and can take advantage of it of a war. barely anything is made here now. if it did hav a war, Chinacan cut off trade wwith that country. That would be devastating on the economy of that country. that makes the goverment look bad and peole inn the contry will be irritated. and, with barely anything new, you will have a hard time making weapons and with the latest euipment, idk, does that make sense?
and i like to see what evidence lil mama

China become a international potential long in the past the U. S.. The style of human beings on my own make China a international potential. In different words having us outnumbered 4 to a million is almost a slam dunk in preschool. If one chinese language individual killed one American and each guy female and newborn in u . s . a . of america killed one chinese language there might nonetheless be sufficient chinese language human beings to repopulate the U. S. as quickly as we are all long gone. i might say that makes them a great potential. If there become a conflict we'd probably run out of ammunition.

if you look at our history, and then look at china right now, they are us back then. they are getting other countries to rely on them but becoming more self reliant. becoming a world power does not mean a stronger military, but to come out on top in the long run. look, we send our jobs to other countries for cheaper results and then ship it back here. china already has cheap labor yet has to ship it once.

They might be powerful but their population will end up destroying itself.... they don't have enough resources to go around as is.... if they went to war on any large scale their people would suffer more than anyone else.... it would collapse on itself.
