I am a thrower. I throw the discuss and shotput. The farthest I have thrown is 73 feet in discuss. For Junior Varsity. What can I do to get stonger (and possibly thinner), besides lifting wheights?

If you want to get stronger, it probably won't help to lose weight. In addition to lifting, try to eat more protein, and find other ways to strength train. Rock climbing is good, and you can add variety to your lifting with bands medicine balls. Swimming and yoga will tone your muscles and won't cause you to bulk up.

Work your legs and abs hard. Don't concentrate as much on your upper body and arms. Just like in pitching, power for throwing comes from the lower half of the body.

drink plenty of water and eat veggies =]
also jog around the block a couple times.
