I seem to have a slight "film" with a few small particals. Is there an easy way to get my pool water surface crystal clear? nets do not seem to work. Thanks!

We had to brush the entire bottom and walls about 2 times a week when we had our pool in CA. Run the pool filters while brushing and the water will clear up in about an hour.

Ok. I've spent alot of time cleaning pools. If you're just now getting it ready for use the water level should be low if it was winterized. I recommend draining it almost all the way (to where there's maybe 2-3 ft in the deep end). I know this sounds crazy but get the largest scrub brush that's on a long handle and scrub your pool. I don't know how long you've had your pool, but with mine this had to be done every other year. But with the pool almost completely drained just scrub every inch of it. And it won't take as long as you think. I don't know if your pool has a liner or not (mine did). But if it does, walk around barefooted, but be careful it is slippery. This is also a great time to inspect the liner for any problems. And if you see any stains or algae on the liner, you can use something like "Soft Scrub" or any kind of non abrasive cleaner on really tough spots.
I know this sounds over the top. But trust me, it's well worth the time and effort. you'll pool should sparkle like a new one. I know some will tell you to use chemicals to get real clear water. And yes that's great. But everything needs a real good cleaning occasionally. It's not that much different than a bath tub. People in and out of it all the time. But we all know that you have to scrub all the gunk out of a tub to get it really clean. I think it's the same way with a pool.
Hope this helps. It really is worth the time. If the pool is drained, it should just be a long afternoon job.

by the way. have a water hose with you in the pool so you can rinse everything down to the deepend. if possible have someone rinsing while your scrubing. if you have any questions or comments. just click on the name and you can email me.

Is your skimmer working properly? that should suck the surface water through your filter.

If it is not the surface water that is your problem, but the few inches above water level on the edge of the pool, it has to be wiped off on a regular basis, it is a build up of body oils.
Contact your pool chemical supplier for the proper product.

Drain the pool and scrub it with abrasive cleaner and then repaint it and refill it.
