I am always sleepy! (okay not always) but I get 7-8 hours of sleep and the next day while at work, I am dozing off at my desk while I type or do other work on the computer. I feel sleepy about 70% of the time that I stand up, even when I drive home from work. I tried getting 4-5 hours-that didn't help, I tried getting 8-10 hours-that didn't help either. Music played from my work computer won't help. I tried drinking coffee or soda, that made me a little bit more sleepy.
I will take any suggestion, I need help from anyone, I am out of hope and ideas.

Hey, do you exercise at all? You need to. Believe it or not, even though you get tired from exercise, it will increase your energy level and help you have a more restful sleep. Cardio, baby! Or walk at least 2 miles a day.......

well, I guess maybe you don't have enough energy or you are not ready to be awake. You need to take some energy medicines with vitamin C. Vitamin C helps you to be active in your daily activities. You can also eat some fruits also with vitamin C (it is the most important to be active). Our bodies have an internal alarm clock powered by special hormones that are automatically activated by light and dark, even when our eyes are closed. Have a reason for waking up. Before you sleep, think for the things you plan to do the next day.

are you overweight also? Many times a person that is extremely tired and overweight is considered lazy or whatever, but this could be a thyroid issue. have you went to your doctor about this? You could have a problem where your thyroid is not working correctly, which would make you extremely tired and weak and this has nothing to do with laziness. It also can cause a person to be overweight, forgetful, and have anger issues. my cousin had this problem. His thyroid was working too much and this caused him to be very hyper and lose a ton of weight. When he was around 15 he finally got diagnosed because he was so underweight and didn't sleep much. I suggest you go to your doctor and ask about hypothyroidism and they can do some hormone tests to see if that is the problem. If you do not get this checked out, it will worsen with age. i don't think it is serious or life-threatening, but it can make your life difficult, especially with work and family.

Your tired, meaning your out of energy. Your out of energy because you arn't digesting food and turning it into your energy. It's not in your control to control how much energy but you can certainly help it by boosting your metabolism to help your body more efficeitnly turn food into energy.
Try finding time in your schedule to get a quick jog, or do a small work out of push ups, sit ups, lunges, and some in place cardio work outs like running in place pumping your arms like crazy.
I mean I'm sure your a busy person and that this won't accomodate your schedule nicely but try your best. If you have to, try a multi vitamin with a metabalism booster.

it depends what time you go to sleep. 10-12 is the time that you get the most out of sleep. also, if you've tried all these things i think you should go see a doctor since you may have higher levels of gaba, which makes you tired and sleepy. they could give you medicine that would help.

Go to your family doctor and ask for a drug called Alertec. My husband and I both take it for the same reasons you have. Normally prescribed for narcoleptics, it is also used to treat people with sleep apnea and excessive daytime sleepiness. It might be called something different in the US, but it is called Alertec in Canada. Generic name is Modafinil. It's usually prescribed at 100mg once or twice a day, and it comes in blister packs in a box.

At my job I inspect thousands of parts a day, BORING!
So I usually try a combination of Mountain Dew, Cappicino and an Energy Drink. Not all at once of course, I mean ew.
Definitely does it for me.
