If not treated, secondary infection can occur. Intense or prolonged scratching may cause the skin of the vulva to become cracked and raw, making it more susceptible to infection. There are a number of non-medicinal ways of curing a yeast infection, including yogurt, and I have known some women who actually apply the yogurt around their vaginal opening and this worked for them.

I've had yeast infections problem over 4 years. I tried everything, of course I went to the DR. about a hundred times, probably not that many, but it sure seems like it. It never did any good for long and caused all kinds of other issues having to do with taking too many antibiotics. It wasn't until I stumbled upon the information on this site
( http://yeastinfectionnomore.tipstoday.info/38-natural.html ), that my life changed completely. I'm feeling so much better now, my quality of life returned and every one of the symptoms had gone.

Although yeast infection (known by the names of Candida, Monilia or Thrush) is in fact a very common condition, (as three out of four women develop it at some point in their lifetimes), it is little discussed. Most people regard candida infection as a ‘on the surface’ problem that should be treated with creams and antibiotics whereas few are aware of its potentially risky complications. So going to doctors it's a bad idea not because it makes you feel uncomfortable, it's because they will prescribe antibiotics until something works, it could take even 1 year to treat a yeast infection like this.

To effectively overcome candida infection, you need to be aware of the real cause of yeast infection and be able to identify its symptoms. You need to know how to self-test and diagnose your candida condition, learn about the dietary principals needed to maintain a candida free environment and about the complimentary treatments that will help you battle against the negative effects and complications of your yeast infection.

Im not sure what they did back then but i do know that if a yeast infection goes untreated then it can expose and irritate patches of skin, causing rawness and even more irritation. You want to scratch even more, which causes even more damage, etc. You need to get it treated otherwise you will end up with a much larger problem then when you started.

Hello, I'm on the second week and seeing definite improvement on my yeast infection symptoms:

Note that: If the yeast infection doesn't respond to over the counter treatment, prescription medication will likely be necessary. Similarly, if the symptoms return after two months of being treated, you should contact the doctor for professional treatment rather than resorting again to home treatment.

If this is the first time you have experienced a yeast infection, you should schedule an appointment to have the condition treated by a doctor instead of resorting to home treatment

They tended to use natural medicines to help cure yeast infection problems. They used yogurts mixed with oats for the good bacteria, well, it depends where the people are and what time you're refering to, but most of the time, it went untreated.

It spreads and causes raw areas that can get infected otherwise..staph, etc. Vinegar and water works. Or plain yogurt (sounds gross, but works) Many women get yeast infections from having abnormal blood sugar levels, could be diabetic. Also, if they bathe in a tub and the man has athlete's foot or jock itch, they can get it...same microbe......
