My engine is a GM 3800 series II Before i replaced the bearings, the engine had a loud clanking/knocking sound. I replaced the bearings, changed the oil. There's no knocking when i start the engine However, the knocking isnt completely gone. I hear the knocking when i try to accelerate. The other thing i noticed, is my oil pressure gauge goes almost to the red zone, like its losing oil pressure. The other thing i noticed about my other gauges , is that they all seem to get really low, especially when i come to stop. Any suggestions? I love my bonneville and i dont want to get rid of it, but my last resort s to put her out to pasture

The bearings can get replaced with the engine nonetheless in the automobile. It shouldn't fee over 3 hundred greenbacks. in the past you place any money into it, you ought to have a mechanic certainly diploma, and inform you what the oil rigidity is. you would be able to have not got something extra heavily incorrect than a undesirable sending unit, or a quick in the wiring gadget. seems such as you oughta try a diverse mechanic.

Did you check your crank before you replaced your bearings?Sounds like there is still a problem there with the low oil pressure.
