I would have to say "Angela's Ashes"... not only is it an autobiography, so it is all true.. but it is also a moving story of a boy who came from some of the worst conditions and yet rose above it all... the title is a tribute to his Mother, which in and of itself is moving... Frank McCourt, the author not only moves and inspires but also entertains and in a story that could be otherwise just sad and bleak, he finds the humor in it and makes you smile... great book!

The two I read most recently that moved me were:
Marley & Me and The Five People You Meet in Heaven.
You can read each book within a day or two. They are both well written. Marley is a story of a newspaper columnist recounting his life with a neurotic dog. It's extremely well written and will have you laughing through out the whole story. His writing style is very easy to read and makes you feel like he is there telling you the story. I highly recommend it.
The second book is exactly what the title says. It's about a man who died saving a girl and when he goes to Heaven he meets five people who have been waiting on him because someway, somehow he had touched their lives. It's very moving. I enjoyed both very much.

I would like to say the Book of Mark in the Gospels, lbut probably that is premature. Instead I would say, "Lost Horizon," by James Hilton. The search for what is wrong in the world. When you find out, please tell me.
