Who do you tip?

Why do I have to tip the waitress who does her job? Seems rediculous. Why don't people tip the gas jockey who pumps your gas when it minus 40....or plus 40 when Your too lazy to do it? Why don't people tip the shoe guy who runs 50 times for this shoe and that in 2 different sizes and then laces them at top speed sweating his butt off? Why can't I tip the clerk at the groc store who packed my bags perfectly? Why do we tip waitresses that do a mediocre job, when others go above and beyond?

There's no rule on who you can and cannot tip. If you want to give a tip to someone please do so. I'm sure they'll appreciate it.

This is actually quite simple. You see, waitresses, AND waiters are not necessarily based on minimun wage. They get below minimum wage and then they take home what they made in tips. Im not sure WHY this is one of the only jobs that it is like this, but it is, that is why you tip. Im sure anyone on the street would LOVE for you to give them a tip for doing a good job, heck that might be what we need to boost our self confidence and make this place better to live in.

The waitresses don't even make min. wage. There tips are taken into account. If you don't tip them, they don't make money. The gas station attendant and the shoe salesman make at least min. wage, and commission in some places.

I tip all waiters and waitresses well. They are serving me my dish that I wanted and they do remember those who were good. Would you want to be remembered as the one who does not tip? Unless it is a buffet and you get your own food, I think it is wise to tip those who are about to serve me
