Most women are taught that once you are 18 OR become sexually active you should start going to the Gyno for a YEARLY EXAM.

During the YEARLY EXAM, they check your breasts for lumps, take a pap test, and feel your reproductive organs for abnormalities.

If your pap test comes back abnormal, then you need to take a pap test every six months until they bacome normal again...usually takes 1-2 years. Abnormal paps are usually caused by HPV.

So, the basic answer is ONCE A YEAR!! If women do not go once a year, VERY COMMON abnormal cells (HPV) could turn into cancer!
