You may not be able to collect unemployment, it is hard to be accepted for if you quit, however , if you have a doctors note telling you not to work, you may be able to file for temporary disability. Check with your doctors office and your social services offices to see if they can help you figure it out.

Giving two weeks notice has nothing to do with collecting unemployment. He's just trying to scare you into working two more weeks. Actually, it is very hard to collect on unemployment at all if you quit. You may be able to get it if you have a doctor's excuse, but it is rare.

You cannot collect unemployment if you quit your job or if you were terminated for cause. It is generally available only to those who have been laid off or terminated without cause. If company disputes why you were terminated (most do) then unemployment office generally sides with the employer.
