I am going to assume, since this is in the pregnancy board, that you are talking about delivery. :-)
It depends on your hospital. My hospital has a shower, so I brought shampoo, conditioner, soap, brush, etc. Bring a toothbrush and toothpaste. If you have long hair, bring an extra hair tie, if short, bring a headband. Bring clothes to change into, if they let you, for after the shower, if you get one.
Make sure to bring clothes for the baby for bringing home, a pacifier if you plan to use one and a blanket for your baby. They will give you all that stuff at the hospital, but its nice to have your own stuff.
Pack like you are going on an overnight stay somewhere.
If your hospital/doctor allow it, bring some hard candy for you to have while in labor because they wont give you anything to eat.
I also brought pads for after the delivery, slippers, fuzzy (comfortable) socks and my MP3 player.

A change of clothes for when you are released.(maternaty and underwear.)
A small snack for whose ever with you I would suggest trail mix, or hard candies.
About $4.00 worth of quarters to make calls on a payphone or give to your partner for vending machine snacks. (or bring a few favorites.
A change of clothes for the baby
A toothbrush, and toothpaste and other toiletries (the hospital offers these and they do charge you for them regardless.) it is just sometimes a question mark on them.
A magazine or something to read.
Good luck

Depends on what you're going in for and how long you're planning to stay.
