Yes but you will have to configure your router regularly to make sure the firmware matches up with your cable. It is not that bad until you see yourself cutting out for no reason and you learn it is the router and not the cable signal. That is when you learn to cycle the router and the cable modem to check things out and then call the router company to upgrade the firmwear on the internet based on your router model and cable service.

You can get a wireless router from your provider, but there's always the option to install your own.
