My last period was from February 12 to the 16th. When calculating ovulation, is it 14 days from the first day, last day, or some day in the middle?

Day counting is not all that reliable as you may not have a textbook cycle, even if it SEEMS textbook.

You can only really know you when YOU are most fertile by charting your fertility signs. Just knowing when you might ovulate is not enough. It works for some women, but not for all. I highly recommend charting as it is much more reliable than OPKs or day counting, is great for keeping track of your gyn health, and can be used to avoid or achieve pregnancy.

It's only 14 days from the first day of your period if your cycle is 28 days long.

To determine when you are likely to ovulate - you determine when your next period is due and count back 12 to 16 days. This gives you the number of days when a woman most likely begins ovulating. An easier way is to purchase a Ovulation Prediction Kit, which I use and it will show you when you are most fertile.

It's suppose to be 14 days from the first day of your period. However, I just went to my doctor and found out that I ovulate on day 12.I have a 26 day cycle. If your cycle is longer or shorter than 28 days,it may not be day 14.Check for a slimy, clear discharge that feels like egg-whites.This is a good indication that ovulation is about to start. You may actually have to stick a finger in your vagina and pull out some of the mucus to check.

It's 14 days after the first day of your last period. You're actually fertile 2 days before and 2 days after that date as well.

First day of your last period...
You would have ovulated at the end of Feb, between 26-28... if your cycle is a regular 28 day cycle...

It tells you when you're ovulating and your best dates and things like that. However it is only a guideline because sometimes you may ovulate later

If you have a regular cycle, every 28 days...then it is 14-ish days from the first day of your last period. So, the 12th.
