Other than a couple of the girls....for the most part...the singers just don't have the same edge as years past...Is it just me? It just feels so flat.

yes i totally agree.. i think every one feels that way.. i like lakisha and melinda, they are the only ones that make me go wow.. i think a lot of ppl agree with this.

I know. I think all singers are just getting worse and worse as time goes. I've been in choir as soon as i was in the fourth grade and i noticed that every year the younger singers would get worse and worse. Maybe it's because some of the popular artists don't really put that much effort into their singing and the influence is being passed on form generation to generation. I have nothing against rap music but all rappers really have to do when it comes to singing is talk fast and with a beat. It's not singing at all.

I kinda noticed it too...Out of the 12 finalists I think there are only 6 who actually have talents. The thing is we've been watching the same thing over and over again (only w/ different faces and names). I think its about time that they put some twists in the show.
Another thing, after watching the first few weeks (seeing talented singers get cut off due to lack of votes) I think American Idol has been reduced to a mere popularity contest. I think that explains the lack of talent in the current contestants.

I keep hoping every week that it'll get better. It's pretty boring. I used to be glued to the T.V. at 8 p.m. every Tuesday and Wednesday during the season - now I sometimes forget it's even on. The contestants just don't have the talent or personalities of last season. It's sad because this show is so entertaining. I don't want it to go, but if next season is anything like this season, I'll probably lost interest in it altogether.

I totally agree. I don't know what they were thinking this year in who they chose to be on the show. I am watching it right now and except for two or three girls, the rest are shouting and sound flat. Last year was far more entertaining.

I know what happened to all the good singers even last years! I mean the people are really bad they CANT SINGER (most of them cant)

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. I totally agree with you! Last year's Top 12 were a lot less predictable and much better. I really don't know who's gonna win this year, besides LaKisha and Melinda. Guess we'll just have to see!

I hear ya! Watching it now and oh man these people just aren't doing it for me this season, aside from a few of the girls. I'm tiring of this show after being really into it all these years. And how about the people who have been kicked off who were really good and the losers they kept on??!! geez...

I AGREE WITH THE AMERICAN IDOL SINGERS ARE NOT WHAT THEY WERE YEARS AGO..I JUST THINK THIS YEAR WILL BE VERY HARD TO EVEN FIND A AMERICAN IDOL WINNER.

the guys are losing it, the girls for the most part are phenomenal. its gonna be real tough when they get down to the final 3-4 and the guys will be gone by then.
