so about my cheek redness from scarring. im really self conscious about them and its been a year and they still have not faded yet although they have started to dramatically get better since about 5 months ago. i really cant wait till my skin clears up but i feel ive been waiting long enough. meanwhile i feel i need some sort of cover up. is foundation advisable/normal for men and what kind works well, especially for scarring? my sis and mom uses bare minerals and i hear it works really well but i only need a coverup. also dont forget about the slight dark discoloration between my eyebrows :P any tips/comments?

dont try makeup yet. use palmer's cocoa butter. its a lotion and it cost about liek 4 bucks. it works really good. you can get it at most drugstores. my pimples causes redness and uneven color on my skin so i use palmer's everynight and my skin balances out in about a week or so. it's really good =] you'll start to see a difference in a week and it makes my skin soo smooth! if that doesnnt work, just try ur sister's bareminerals. cus bareminerals is bascally a coverup. foundation is bad for the skin so it will make your skin even worse..cus it will clog the pores. so try something light liek bareminerals =]

Much better than Bare Minerals is Jane Iredale mineral makeup. I have used the Pure Pressed Base. I have light beige skin with yellow undertones and I wear "Satin," for the color. Jane Iredale was initially developed for post-surgical laser patients who had work done and it cuts down on redness. I have tried both Bare Minerals and Jane Iredale and Jane looks more natural (less sheen) and covers better - esp. redness.

I've tried Bare Minerals, Glo Minerals and Jane Iredale, I chose Jane Iredale hands down as the best, natural looking coverage.

You can try to find a local salon or plastic surgeon's office who may carry the line. Otherwise you can order online, but most are not returnable. One compact lasts me at least 6 months and it cost me $48. Also you can try cover ups like Illuminare, Dermablend... or other ones you can find at Ulta or Sephora stores.

I am an independent consultant for Arbonne and they have a line of products that are hypoallergenic. The products have rave reviews and there is a line specifically for men. I don't want you to feel pressured, because that is the beauty of this business, it actually delivers products that help people.I hope you find a remedy, even if it is not with Arbonne products. What caused the scarring? It is important that you know what caused your skin to be so irritated. There are some products that may work better than others depending on the reason.

Teboto-there is a foundation that is actually white when it comes out of the tube-It's by Philosophy-1-800-love-515 if interested. It looks like it would not cover at all but it really does, and I hear there is a new one out now called Smart Shade by Almay -not expensive and you probably don't want to look like you are wearing anything, that's my best suggestion to you. Good Luck!!Oh the one by Philosophy is called the Present. Sometimes it's Trial and Error Alot!!One more thing if you do have to resort to any of these it only takes a very very small amount!Dime size and maybe just a tiny bit less.

Makeup will make acne and pimples worse... I wouldn't worry about them. There are better methods than makeup to improve skin's appearance.

i wouldn't use a foundation, you can ALWAYS tell someone is wearing it and you will likely be more embarrassed by the reaction to you wearing it than by the redness, besides from your description it sounds like the redness is fading naturally
