why is it that construction workers and D.O.T workers have the word reading on the end of the truck

For the same reason they Ford or Dodge. Reading is a manufacturer of truck beds. A bunch of the trucks we make are what we call chassis cabs. It is the frame and the cab and there is no box with it. The people that buy these then take them to a specialty manufacturer and then the box will be built to their specifications.
