I know that the Better Business Bureau isn't much help--at least not for me, it wasn't. Have you enough info to take the photographer to small claims court? You need his legal name, where he works, where he lives, copy of your contact, etc. Most photographers are not part of a union so you really can't go through a Michigan-based union. You should be able to file a complaint with the Michigan Attorney General's Office at:

Here in the Detroit area, Local 4 News does on-camera reports about scam artists. Maybe you could contact them. It's a thought.

You should also contact your State Attorney Generals office of Consumer protection. In most cases you will be able to file a consumer complaint, and they will try to assist you in resolving your complaint. Chances are if this business did it to you, he did it to others. If the AG's office finds this business has many complaints for the same thing, they may charge the guy. You should also contact the Chamber of Commerce where the business is located and report your complaint. Another option, depending on the amount of money involved is to file a Police report in the town where the business is located. Your best bet though is to go to your State Attorney Generals office.

You could try your local TV news, or newspaper. Then this dumb@s$ would surely be out of business.

You could write, stop in, or phone your congressman, representative, or local official. If you are near a Chamber of Commerce, ask them what would be the most direct route to solving this problem.

Take him to small claims court, or take him to Judge Judy or another court television show. There's People Court, Cristina's Court, and others.
