There's plenty of sporting activity to be had in this city, and if you want, you never even have to participate at all. San Antonio is the home of the NBA Spurs, the Alamo Bowl, the AHL professional hockey team - the Rampage and the Alamodome. As the only major professional sports team in the area, locals are very loyal to their Spurs and if given the chance to catch a game, visitors will get an experience unlike any other. The Spurs have won 3 NBA Championships since 1999 and are regularly regarded as among the league's elite teams.
If football is more your thing, the annual Alamo Bowl should satisfy your cravings. Or check out the AHL team, the Rampage, at one of their games at the AT&T Center. Hockey in Texas, you say? But of course!
Take in a rodeo at the annual San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, which includes rodeos, concerts, horse and cattle shows and shopping for residents and visitors to enjoy.
For those who'd prefer to get off the couch or out of their seat and actually take part in sports, there's plenty of opportunity to do that as well around here. Golf is huge here, and you can play a round at Pecan Valley Golf Club (site of 3 Texas Opens and the 1968 PGA Championship) the Quarry Golf Club, the Golf Club of Texas (the only Lee Trevino signature course in Texas) or the Palmer Course at La Cantera - the first Arnold Palmer designed course in South Texas.
If organized sport is less your game than solitary pursuits, you can always jog the trails, ride a bike down the Mission Trail, or just amble around the city, exploring the sights.

You have the Blue Star art gallery on South Alamo street that has different types of art on display by various artists. ,then there's the Institute of Texan Cultures . It's a museum that's run by the University of Texas@San Antonio and it has artifacts of all the different peoples who have lived in the area now known as Texas for the last 15,000 years. Also, there's the guided tours by trolley that are fun.

The zoo in Brackenridge Park is pretty cool. My daughter loves going there. What about Sea World or Six Flags, again two things that my daughter enjoys. Fiesta is coming up real soon. You'll have all of those parades to go see.
